Katherine Mansfield’s Her First Ball 1 In Katherine Mansfield’s Her First Ball, Leila, the principle character is an eighteen-year-old young lady from the provincial nation who has as of late moved into the city with more distant family individuals. To Leila, everything was â€Å"so new and exciting† (fourth section) and she quickly starts her way from honesty to encounter. I can relate to her, however I don’t feel compassion toward her. She didn’t have a lamentable encounter, she a learning experience.
